What does Conservation Standard Mounting mean?

Conservation Standard Mounting ensures archival quality for the artwork with extra steps taken by creating a metal barrier between the wooden frame and the mat board. Through this service, acid free backing board can also be included for a completely acid free presentation. Although these extra steps may not be required for artwork that can be duplicated, it is recommended that all original and signed artwork is taken care of with these precautions.

What is a Giclee Print?

A Giclee print is a digital ink jet print that is used for reproducing artwork and photography. For this, a highly refined ink jet print head is used, that has thousands of tiny nozzles, to spray very fine, overlapping layers of pigmented ink on a paper or canvas and thus, create stunning prints with superior clarity and colour.

What is a Double Mount?

A double mount is two pieces of mount board that may or may not be of the same colour. Here, the upper mount has a larger space than the under mount and it is seated on top of the under mount to show some of the under mount through it. The under mount can be of a contrasting colour to surround the work with a thin line of that colour.

What does sold-out mean?

When a print is "sold-out", it means it is sold-out at the publisher, which is sometimes prints available at the original publisher's price from galleries, depending upon the length of time elapsed following the publication.

What is the secondary market?

The secondary market is the network of dealers, artists, and collectors that can be found for images that are sold out at the publisher. Such images are more expensive in most cases as they tend to be popular ones in demand, and at times, difficult to find.
